How to Connect to Sunshine Radio IOW’s Internet stream
Normally you should be able to listen to our stream by clicking on the "Listen Live" button on the Home Page.
The direct Stream URL is:https://stream.gointernet.co.uk:2000/public/SunshineRadio. Enter this into your browser. Once you are on the page, click on the play symbol (the white circle with a blue triangle in the middle), and the stream will start.
To connect using the Music players on your PC. There are links to the supported players on our Home Page.
Here are the other ways you can connect using a selection of devices
Alexa App.
- Any smart device which can have the Alexa app installed can play our stream. These include, but not exclusively, Android smartphones and tablets, Apple smartphones and tablets, Amazon Fire stick for the TV, Amazon Dot, and Amazon Echo.
- Just say "Alexa, Play Sunshine Radio Isle of Wight on Tunein"
Tunein App.
- Any smart device which can have the "Tunein" app installed can play our stream. These include, but not exclusively, Android smartphones and tablets, Apple smartphones and tablets, Amazon fire stick for the TV, Amazon Dot, and Amazon Echo.
- Just search for Sunshine Radio Isle of Wight.
Your Internet browser (Windows 7/810 or 11, Mac or Linux)
For those who would prefer to listen via their favourite Media Player:
Windows 7/8/10/11, Mac or Linux, Android Phone or tablet
Play direct from VLC:
- Tap the three bar menu at the top left of the app.
- From the menu select network stream.
- Enter the URL https://stream.gointernet.co.uk:8002/stream.m3u
- Finally, click GO on your keyboard and, if you are connected, to the Internet then the station should start to play.
Android, phone or Tablet
- There are two apps which have been tested, and they are “VLC”, and “Oplayer Lite”.
- To get either, go to the Google Play store, download, and install either application.
- Using your native Browser supplied with the device (not Firefox, Chrome, etc.). Navigate to the Sunshine Radio IOW web site and click on “Listen Live”.
- You should then be asked which app to use, at which point you can select whichever of the two apps you downloaded earlier.
Or, to connect direct using either, VLC, or Oplayer Lite:
- Make sure you have installed either “VLC” or “Oplayer Lite”
VLC:
- Open the app.
- Tap the three bar menu at the top left of the app.
- From the menu select network stream.
- Enter the URL https://stream.gointernet.co.uk:8002/stream.m3u
- Finally, click GO on your keyboard and, if you are connected to the Internet then the station should start to play.
Oplayer Lite:
- Open the app.
- Tap the three bar menu at the top left of the app.
- From the menu select network stream, and tap the + at the bottom right of the app page.
- Enter the URL https://stream.gointernet.co.uk:8002/stream.m3u
- Then enter a name e.g. “Sunshine Live”, of your choice.
- Tap OK. If you are connected to the Internet, it should then start to play.
IPhone or IPad (not fully tested)
- Download Oplayer from the Apple Store, and install.
- Open the app.
- Tap the three bar menu at the top left of the app.
- From the menu select network stream, and tap the + at the bottom right of the app page.
- Enter the URL https://stream.gointernet.co.uk:8002/stream.m3u
- Then enter a name e.g. “Sunshine Live”, or another of your choice.
- Tap OK. If you are connected to the Internet, it should then start to play.
Amazon Kindle Fire
- Only use the default browser “Silk”.
- Download VLC from the Amazon AppStore and install.
- Open the app, and follow the configuration process.
- Using the Silk browser, go to https://www.sunshineradioiow.com, and select Listen Live Icon. You will then be asked which application you wish to use.
- Select VLC. If you are connected to the Internet, then the station should start to play.
Or, to play direct from VLC:
- Tap the three bar menu at the top left of the app.
- From the menu select network stream.
- Enter the URL https://stream.gointernet.co.uk:8002/stream.m3u
- Finally, click GO on your keyboard and, if you are connected, to the Internet then the station should start to play.
